We offer a wide range of mains powered battery chargers for installation on-board vehicles and boats. We also supply them for portable use, integration into static power systems or for use in workshops.
All of our chargers are fully automatic in operation and employ multi-stage charging, allowing them to fully replenish batteries quickly, accurately and safely, in-line with manufacturers recommendations (illustrated below). Our more sophisticated units are "four stage" chargers:
Many of our units have multiple outputs allowing you to charge several battery banks simultaneously and different software programs so you can select the exact battery technology you wish to charge (the voltages needed for different battery types differ). Some units also offer "adaptive" charging where a software algorithm automatically calculates when each charge stage can be entered. This is a much more accurate and safe method of replenishing batteries than when the various stages are simply timed programs. Adaptive charging prolongs battery life by preventing under or over charging.
In addition, many of our products have auto ranging or universal voltage input (allowing them to be run from 230V or 110V mains AC) and are power factor corrected. PFC effectively ensures that they draw mains current smoothly through the supply cycle so they can be run from generators or limited grid supplies much more easily.
Automatic temperature compensation is also important in high ambients for ensuring batteries are not over charged. Some units will also allow you to perform a periodic equalisation operation, which is a method of recovering partially sulphated batteries which are either not retaining or accepting charge under normal conditions.

Dolphin (On-Board)
Our most popular battery charger range. Dolphin are manuafctured in the EU to a very high quality but are very competitively priced. Each unit features a corrosion resistant casing and coated circuit board.
They offer all the features and benefits above and also "Adaptive" charging on larger units. They are suitable for both lesiure and professional use, have six charge programs for different battery types (larger units) and an equalisation mode for desulphation.
We offer units from 10A to 160A output in both 12 & 24V DC. A limited number of Dolphin "All In One" units are also available with in-built RCD and breakers, negating the need for a seperate mains consumer unit in a mobile application.
Tecsup Powertec (On-Board)
The ultra-compact Powertec is available in either 50A @ 12V DC or 30A @ 24V DC with a single DC output.
It is commonly used in professional automotive applications where space is of a premium and only a single output is necessary. The unit is incredibly sophisticated with 16 different tailored adaptive charge programs. Another major benefit of Powertec is its superb reliability record, making it an ideal choice for applications where you simply cannot afford for the charger to go wrong.
The Microtec (5-10A) is also available as a less sophisticated, lowered powered unit from the same family.
Xantrex XC Battery Chargers (On-Board)
The Xantrex XC range are a recent break-through in multi-output charger technology.
Offering many of the common features and benefits (above), the units have three completely isolated and independently controlled outputs. Rather than the current being split three ways, the unit selectively charges each battery bank in turn, depending on which is most depeleted. Every few mintutes the charger revaluates which battery bank requires its charge and applies exactly what is required. For example, one minute it could be charging a lead-acid battery at a specific voltage in bulk mode and the next it may have altered its output completely to charge a bank of AGM's in absorption mode.
The unit has a removeable panel on its case which can be remotely mounted to provide a visual indication of what it is doing. For professional users requiring absolute accuracy and priority charging, the XC is in a league of its own.
Fronius Acctiva (Workshop)
The Fronius Acctiva range of chargers are perhaps the most advanced, high performance maintenance chargers available in the World. They are definately the correct choice for customers looking to charge batteries either on or off vehicles while they are in the workshop.
A wide range of units are available to suit different requirements for voltages, capacities and battery types. Acctiva chargers have numerous built in safety features for the user and vehicle such as non-sparking battery connectors and charge programs sensititive to modern day engine management systems. Some can also be used to provide an alternative power supply to allow you to change ("hot swop") batteries on vehicles where power cannot be interrupted.
In addition to accurate algorithms designed to recharge batteries safely but in the shortest possible time, we think possibly the cleverest thing about these chargers is their incredible ability to recover seemingly dead batteries. We truly believe if a Fronius won't do it, then nothing will!
They are very easy to use and monitor, with LCD windows displaying information such as voltage and ampere hours replaced.
