The marine atmosphere is one of the most natuarally occuring corrosive environments known to man.
Bare copper wiring quickly oxidises with salt and insulation breaks down in high levels of UV light and in oily bilges. Standard terminals also corrode quickly while high vibration causes premature mechanical failure in connections.

- Lifetime's extra fine wire stranding makes it highly resistant to fracture due to vibration. It also makes the cable very flexible and easy to work with
- Each individual stand of wire in the cable is fully tinned preventing corrosion which turns conventional copper wire black and causes it to crumble
- The cable jacket is protected from attack by UV light, oils, acids and other chemicals - preventing the exposure of bare wire and avoiding a serious safety hazard
- Tinned terminals prevent rusting and electrolysis which causes conventional terminals to lose conductivity and fall off
